Teen arrested after mom observed son had gun at Texas college drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Grey News) - Several agencies responded to a middle college in Texas Friday morning after an adolescent’s mother seen he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock tell KCBD a mother was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Center College around 9 a.m. when she observed the firearm. The teen never made it inside the constructing, and he ran from the varsity.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the world along with a number of different agencies in an try to search out him.
The teenager was found close to the college’s campus and taken into custody.
Authorities said the 15-year-old may very well be going through a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no menace made to the college or anybody inside the varsity.
O.L. Slaton Middle Faculty was briefly placed on lockout as a result of the incident.
