DALLAS - The high court docket will permit a wrongful demise lawsuit to proceed against the town of Dallas and four police officers.
The household of a man who died in police custody in 2016 sued.
Tony Timpa known as police for assist as he had a drug and mental health disaster.

The Supreme Courtroom upheld a federal appeals court’s ruling that will allow the case to proceed.

"The decision signifies that the case can proceed to trial and that there will be no extra delays from any appellate court. Also, the choice implies that the Fifth Circuit did it right that their ruling regarding lethal drive will be the regulation of the land at least in Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana for as long as we all know," said Geoff Henley, an legal professional for Timpa’s household.
Those are the states covered by the Fifth Circuit Court docket of Appeals ruling permitting the suit to proceed.
Three years in the past, the Dallas district attorney dropped prison fees against three of the officers.
