A walkout may not necessarily change laws, Janoff mentioned, however these actions show "students are nonetheless united in this."

She said that though most college students aren't old enough to vote, they still wish to see change and are willing to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"Students don't have to be quiet about it simply because they are a child," Janoff mentioned.
