BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "faculty shooter" were present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Security announced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of charges.

An increased quantity of cops were placed at colleges in the communities on account of the signs. A number of colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the indicators across the communities, the Department of Safety stated, however they determined there isn't a credible risk right now.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The security division released a photograph of the plate but blurred part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of criminal threatening and three misdemeanor charges together with false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and prison threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No different suspects have been charged at the moment.
