BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "college shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Safety announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of expenses.

An elevated amount of cops were placed at schools in the communities on account of the signs. Multiple colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the indicators across the communities, the Department of Safety stated, but they decided there isn't a credible menace at this time.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The security department launched a photograph of the plate but blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of prison threatening and three misdemeanor fees including false report to law enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No different suspects have been charged presently.
