BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after multiple indicators saying "college shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple costs.

An increased quantity of law enforcement officials were placed at colleges within the communities because of the signs. A number of faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the indicators around the communities, the Division of Security mentioned, however they decided there isn't a credible risk presently.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The protection department released a photo of the plate but blurred a part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of legal threatening and three misdemeanor costs including false report to law enforcement, false public alarm and criminal threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No different suspects have been charged right now.
