BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after a number of signs saying "college shooter" were found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Safety introduced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of costs.

An elevated amount of law enforcement officials had been placed at schools in the communities as a result of the signs. Multiple faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the indicators across the communities, the Division of Safety said, but they determined there isn't any credible threat at the moment.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The safety division launched a photo of the plate however blurred a part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of criminal threatening and three misdemeanor expenses including false report back to law enforcement, false public alarm and prison threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at the moment.
