Man arrested in reference to “faculty shooter” indicators present in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of signs saying "school shooter" had been found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Security announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple charges. 

An increased quantity of cops had been positioned at colleges in the communities as a result of the signs. A number of schools initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the indicators around the communities, the Department of Safety said, but they decided there isn't a credible threat presently.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The safety division released a photo of the plate however blurred a part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of prison threatening and three misdemeanor charges together with false report to law enforcement, false public alarm and prison threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged right now.
