Final NYC public payphone eliminated

New York Metropolis's last bank of public payphones was faraway from a road corner in Midtown.

NEW YORK - The final New York City public pay telephone was removed on Monday morning.

The town began removing payphones in 2015 and changing them with public Wi-Fi hotspots.

LinkNYC, which runs the Wi-Fi hotspots, says the community shall be expanded to add 5G functionality this summer time.
