Speaking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going forward till I feel higher about the route of our nation."
In a blog put up, Kapler questioned whether the nation's management is committed to representing its individuals's best pursuits and whether or not america is truly "the land of the free and the house of the brave.""We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the lack of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."
"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied together with your nation, you let it's known through protest. The home of the brave ought to encourage this."
