Talking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I feel higher about the direction of our country."

In a weblog publish, Kapler questioned whether the nation's management is committed to representing its individuals's best interests and whether or not america is really "the land of the free and the house of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked dad and mom attempting to organize to cost in to stop the shooter, together with a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra essential than our children's freedom to go to school without having bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the shortage of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I could have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let or not it's identified via protest. The house of the courageous should encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion towards gun violence in the United States.

Kerr refused to speak about basketball forward of Game 4 of the Warriors' series towards the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute raising his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"In the last 10 days, we've had aged Black individuals killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got youngsters murdered at college," Kerr informed reporters initially of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I'm drained. I am so bored with getting up right here and offering condolences to the devastated households that are out there ... I am bored with the moments of silence. Enough."
