Talking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I feel better concerning the path of our country."

In a blog submit, Kapler questioned whether or not the nation's leadership is dedicated to representing its people's greatest interests and whether the United States is actually "the land of the free and the home of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. We aren't free when politicians determine that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra important than our kids's freedom to go to high school without needing bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the shortage of delivery of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I could have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied together with your country, you let it be known by way of protest. The home of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action towards gun violence in america.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball forward of Game 4 of the Warriors' sequence towards the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative raising his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"In the last 10 days, we have had aged Black folks killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have now kids murdered in school," Kerr instructed reporters in the beginning of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I am tired. I'm so bored with getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated households which can be out there ... I'm uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
