The household of an 11-year-old lady who survived the massacre at Robb Elementary Faculty in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader played dead after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother said the 4th grader is struggling to cope and telling them what she witnessed during the shooting.

"Around midnight my sister-in-law referred to as me and she or he was simply crying, like 'I think it simply hit Miah. I believe every little thing got here to reality now,'" said Blanca Rivera.

Rivera mentioned Miah's instructor, Irma Garcia, was one of the two teachers killed. Her pals and classmates had been additionally targeted.

Rivera stated that's when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah got some blood and put it on herself so she could pretend she was lifeless," said Rivera. "It is too much for me to play that scene over and over again, but that is what my sister-in-law mentioned is that she saw her friend stuffed with blood and she acquired blood and put it on herself."

Miah was injured however taken to the hospital and has been released.

"My brother mentioned she had bullet fragments in her back," stated Rivera.

Rivera, a mother of three, stated the household is rallying round Miah to help her recover bodily, emotionally and spiritually.

"At this level, we simply have to hope and ask God to help us transfer ahead through this example, I do know it is traumatizing as it is," said Rivera.
