The family of an 11-year-old girl who survived the bloodbath at Robb Elementary College in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader performed dead after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother stated the 4th grader is struggling to manage and telling them what she witnessed throughout the shooting.

"Around midnight my sister-in-law called me and she was just crying, like 'I think it simply hit Miah. I feel all the things came to reality now,'" said Blanca Rivera.

Rivera mentioned Miah's instructor, Irma Garcia, was one of many two lecturers killed. Her associates and classmates were also targeted.

Rivera said that's when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah received some blood and put it on herself so she might fake she was dead," stated Rivera. "It is too much for me to play that scene time and again, however that's what my sister-in-law stated is that she saw her friend filled with blood and she or he received blood and put it on herself."

Miah was injured however taken to the hospital and has been released.

"My brother mentioned she had bullet fragments in her back," said Rivera.

Rivera, a mother of three, mentioned the family is rallying round Miah to assist her get well physically, emotionally and spiritually.

"At this level, we just have to pray and ask God to help us transfer forward through this example, I know it is traumatizing as it is," said Rivera.

Nearly everyone in the city of Uvalde has been touched by the loss of somebody within the mass shooting at Robb Elementary Faculty, residents are supporting one another as they begin dealing with the tragedy.
