CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The mother and father of a 6-year-old marathoner are speaking out after they say youngster protecting providers paid their family an unannounced go to and questioned their kids at house.

Ben and Kami Crawford shared a photo on Instagram Sunday purportedly of considered one of their children being interviewed by a CPS staffer. In the accompanying caption, they wrote partly, "Yesterday Little one Protective Companies (CPS) arrived at our home unannounced and interviewed our kids, dad and mom & grandmother. The Crawfords made headlines last week after they let their children, together with their son Rainier, 6, run the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati on May 1 and shared it on-line. Ben and Kami Crawford addressed critics' accusations in a prolonged Instagram video Saturday.

"The actual stuff that we acquired accused of was dragging Rainier, like bodily dragging him on the marathon course after mile 13 and throughout the finish line," Ben Crawford stated.

"In the event you guys have seen our finish line image, we all held fingers for just like the last probably, like, .2, .3 miles," he added. "We talked about it forward of time, like that is what we'll do."

The Crawfords keep their 6-year-old wanted to run all along and stand by their choice to let the younger boy run 26.2 miles.

"I do not know if I needs to be angry. I like to consider that people are doing the most effective that they can. They're not trying to damage our life or, you already know, they most likely are legit afraid for our children. But also, it is like, the place's the road?" Ben Crawford requested.

Consultants say a marathon is a serious bodily feat for anybody and it could take a toll on a child.

"If a younger baby were to run a marathon, I am nervous about electrolyte abnormalities, nausea, vomiting, heatstroke, all these signs and signs that might not be that clear in a younger little one," Dr. Alok Patel previously instructed "GMA."

Children could have a tougher time recognizing warning signs of dehydration, exhaustion or different crimson flags. Parents and caregivers should consult with a child's pediatrician before a child is permitted to have interaction in any strenuous exercise.
