BERKELEY, Calif. - A 16-year-old boy was arrested after recruiting others to participate in a mass faculty taking pictures that would have included a bombing at Berkeley Excessive Faculty, police say.
The teenager was arrested Monday, when he turned himself in to police, Berkeley Police Department said in a press release. Monday was Memorial Day and there was no school that day.
The boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing damaging machine materials and threatening to commit against the law which is able to lead to demise or nice bodily damage.
Police mentioned they received a tip on Saturday that the boy was recruiting others in plans of a shooting that included explosives. Following the tip, police obtained and executed a search warrant for a residence.
Police did not say if the teenager was a scholar at Berkeley Excessive College.
Upon executing the search warrant, police stated they discovered elements to explosives and assault rifles, several knives, and electronic items that might be used to create extra weapons.
At that time, a warrant was obtained for the teen's arrest.

"School security stays a high priority for the division," police said in an announcement.
Particulars on whom the teen was making an attempt to recruit were not disclosed. Police said this case remains beneath investigation.
Berkeley Unified Supt. Brent Stephens instructed the varsity's group that the district was in close contact with police throughout this investigation.
After police confiscated the teen's weapon parts, the district relied on police expertise to assess any potential ongoing threat to its colleges. The district communicated with police on the scholar's whereabouts.
"As added precautions throughout this period, we alerted our administrative and security employees about this investigation and, as is our commonplace practice, maintained shut contact with our BPD College Useful resource Officer on the Berkeley High School campus," Stephens wrote. "All through the investigation interval, we were assured that this particular person didn't pose an instantaneous menace to the Berkeley High Faculty group."
